Arlington Heights, Palatine Churches Join Together for Holy Week Celebrations

Holy Week events will be spread out between five churches.

Five churches are gathering together for celebrations this week as Christians embark on the holiest time of year.

Maundy Thursday

Congregation United Church of Christ, 1001 W. Kirchoff Road will host Maundy Thursday with worship at 7:30 p.m. The service includes washing of the feet and the story of the Last Supper through gospels.

Additional services include:

7:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 144 E. Palatine Rd., Palatine. This will be a solemn service with communion.

6:15 p.m. at Church of the Incarnation United Methodist, 330 W. Golf Rd., Arlington Hts. All ages are welcomed to share simple meal and breaking of the fast. Food will be provided. Guests can bring a vegetable to put into a soup, but it is not necessary. To make reservations, call 847-956-1510. 7:30 Holy Communion and Tenebrae Service in sanctuary.

 Good Friday

A Good Friday Ecumenical Service and Cantata "Whispers of the Passion" will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 29 at

St. John United Church of Christ, 308 N. Evergreen Ave., Arlington Heights.

Easter

Church of the Incarnation, 330 W. Golf Road, Arlington Heights, is holding a youth led sunrise service at 7 a.m. Youth ministries from four churches will participate. There will be an Easter egg hunt at 8:45 a.m. followed by a 9:30 a.m. all generational service.
