Puppy Theft Caught On Camera In Pet Shop Break-In: Police

Police are searching for the two suspects who they say stole a toy Yorkshire terrier puppy from Pocket Puppies after breaking into the shop.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Arlington Heights Police are searching for two suspects who are accused of stealing a toy Yorkshire terrier puppy that was taken during a break-in at Pocket Puppies in Arlington Heights in April.

The department released video footage of the break-in on Friday. The video shows the two suspects entering the shop and walking through a second room where it appears puppies were being kept in kennels. One of the suspects walked up to one of the kennels paused and then left the the room with the other suspect, according to the video.

Police said the suspects forced their way into the shop, which is located at 1457 E. Palatine Road, and stole the puppy. The break-in took place while the shop was closed, and police have said that the microchip for the puppy is No. 900217000115164.

Anyone providing information may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
