Arlington Heights Woman Seriously Hurt In Christmas Eve Crash
An elderly Lake Barrington woman is in critical condition after the Sunday night crash on Route 59 in North Barrington.

NORTH BARRINGTON, IL — An Arlington Heights woman is in serious condition after a Christmas Eve crash sent her car into water on Route 59 in North Barrington. Her passenger, an 86-year-old Lake Barrington woman, is in critical condition.
The crash took place Sunday night at about 6 p.m. when the 63-year-old Arlington Heights woman lost control of her Toyota Corolla and struck a Toyota Highlander SUV on Route 59, sending her car into a wetland. Lake Zurich Rural Fire Protection District rescue personnel freed both women from the partially submerged car.
The driver was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and was listed in serious condition, while the passenger who sustained critical injuries was taken to Advocate Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the fire protection district.

Driver Killed In Lake County Crash Christmas Eve
Paramedics took the passenger to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with critical injuries, and the driver was taken to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital near Lake Barrington in serious condition.

The driver of the SUV and a passenger were taken Good Shepherd Hospital. Their injuries were not life-threatening. The Lake County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
Some area roads were slick and snow-covered due to Sunday's snowfall.
