Burger Baron’s Offering Beer, Wine with Varied Menu

The Arlington Heights restaurant is getting ready to offer beer and select wine.

Burger Baron II recently obtained a village liquor license, just in time for owners Sam, George and Toula Louckes to toast the restaurant’s first year anniversary.

Toula and Sam Louckes own a Burger Baron in Chicago on W. Grand Avenue and have been in business for 33 years. The couple wanted to open a business close to home for their son, George, to manage and eventually own. At 26, he needs some more experience managing a restaurant, Toula said.

Burger Baron II opened at 132 E. Golf Road in Arlington Heights last March. The restaurant is like coming home for the family who live in the area, Toula said.

“It’s fantastic, it’s like home,” Toula said of the new location. “We know a lot of people in the area. They support us. It’s awesome, it really is.”

The restaurant has been doing well since it opened, but a lot of people commenting that they would like to have a beer or glass of wine with their meal, she said.

Burger Baron II has a large menu that includes some fast food items like the obvious, burgers, and hot dogs. The Louckes also offer traditional Greek meals like gyros and souvlaki ka-bob. It is a sit down restaurant or customers can order meals on the go. It also serves breakfast.

Toula said the family focuses on customer service and the quality of the food. The family is also hands on, managing the restaurants themselves, she said.

Burger Baron should start serving beer and wine soon. Toula is meeting with beverage companies to get advice on the types of beers and wine to use. She’s wants the choices to pair with the menu.
