Chicago Pizza Authority Opens in Hoffman Estates
The location will celebrate its grand opening with a "pizza cutting" ceremony Thursday with Mayor Bill McCleod.

HOFFFMAN ESTATES, IL — Chicago Pizza Authority is now open in Forest View Plaza in Hoffman Estates. CPA has been the "authority on pizza since 1983," when the pizzeria opened its first location in Elgin. The Hoffman Estates location will celebrate its grand opening with a “pizza cutting” ceremony with Mayor Bill McCleod on Thursday, according to a press release.
Chicago Pizza Authority in Hoffman Estates will donate 25 percent of its sales on Veterans Day to Honor Flight Chicago. Honor Flight Chicago recognizes the bravery, determination and patriotism of our nation’s senior war veterans with a one-of-a-kind journey to Washington, D.C. The trip lasts one day, but the experience is life-changing.
The owner of the new CPA location is Diego Cervantes, a 28-year-old Mexican-American who has worked in the pizza business for nine years, according to the release. Having started out as a cook and dishwasher at a pizzeria in the southwest suburbs, Cervantes is proud to open a restaurant of his own — especially in a community where he once worked and saw great potential as a young cook.

"At Chicago Pizza Authority, we stick to the Chicago tradition of pizza making,” Cervantes says. “You can count on CPA to serve up delicious, satisfying pizzas and pastas that you crave with ingredients made from scratch every day. Our generous portions come at a great value, and I think families will love it all — from our thin-crust pizzas to our hearty chicken parmigiana to our buttery breadsticks. And, of course, you can never go wrong with an Italian beef.”
Cervantes says he searched long and hard to find a 1940s artisanal oven to bake the pizzas just right.
"The old-school rotary ovens cook pizzas differently, and it’s something that not all pizzerias can offer. At Chicago Pizza Authority, each individual pizza is cooked to perfection," Cervantes said.
While the young owner was drawn to Hoffman Estates for the location’s rotary oven, Cervantes says it was the vibrant and family-friendly community that sealed the deal. He looks forward to working with local schools and organizations to serve the community.
