Discover Arlington Heights Joins Coupon Game

Pop O Licious Popcorn is one of downtown Arlington Heights’ little treasures waiting to be discovered.

The Chicago blend of cheddar cheese and caramel popcorn is the real thing. The jalapeno popcorn is a big seller and there are countless other flavors.

Discover Arlington Heights is giving the business, which opened a year ago at 10 S. Evergreen Avenue, a boost by featuring it on its website where Pop O Licious Popcorn is offering a coupon, buy one bag of popcorn get a second one for half off.

Pop O Licious Popcorn also has coupons for hot dogs, which it recently began selling.

There are more coupons on Discover Arlington Heights, which is trying to let businesses and consumers know about its new feature, Coupons and Deals. The website currently has 12 coupons which can be printed out.

One of the challenges is getting businesses to see coupons are being used,” said John Melaniphy, business and development coordinator.

Any business with a village business license can place a coupon on the site and there’s a one time $25 fee for other businesses, like realtors, he said.

This spring, Arlington Heights plans to have an intern visit stores and show business owners how easy it is to create a coupon so the site should have more deals to offer.
