Fire Damages Palatine Home Under Construction

A fire Tuesday in an attached garage of a home in the 500 block of West Helen Road was under control in 10 minutes, the Daily Herald is reporting.

But the cause of the fire and the estimate for damage were not known Wednesday.

No one was injured in the fire.

“Officials said buildings undergoing construction, demolition or renovation can be susceptible to fires because of open void spaces, exposed structural members and combustible materials on the scene,” the Daily Herald reported.
