Give the gift of reading at holiday book drive this year

This holiday season give the gift of reading by donating children's books for the Arlington Heights Memorial Library's holiday book drive.

This holiday season give the gift of reading by donating new children's books for the Arlington Heights Memorial Library's holiday book drive. The books will go to low-income families in the local area through the Wheeling Township Adopt-a-Family program. The library is collecting new books for children and teens from infancy to age 18. As always, books in Spanish are also welcome.

You can also collect as a group. If your school, community group or business is interested in collecting books for the book drive, contact Editorial Supervisor April Harder at 847-870-3785 or aharder@ahml.info.

The library has donated 17,132 books to children and teens in need since it introduced the Holiday Book Drive in 1998. 770 books were generously donated for infants, children and teens for Wheeling Township's Adopt-a-Family program last year.
