Halloween 2018: Arlington Heights Trick-Or-Treat Times

PLUS: Safety tips to make sure kids and parents are safe during the spooky holiday.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Although the weather might not feel like it, but it's the end of October. That means it's Halloween and time for trick-or-treating.

This year, Arlington Heights' trick-or-treat hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.31. To make sure your spooky holiday is safe, here are a few tips to follow:

  • Make sure costumes are either brightly colored or have reflective material for night visibility.
  • Parents or adults should accompany young children as they go house to house.
  • Carry a flashlight if you're out when it's dark.
  • Avoid costumes that are restrictive and limit movement and a child's ability to clearly see.
  • Wait until you get home to eat your candy and make sure parents check it first.

Homeowners greeting trick-or-treaters should keep their front lights on and make sure there aren't any obstacles near the door that could make trick-or-treaters trip and fall. Drivers also should be extra-vigilant for children crossing or walking in the street.
