Honor Flight McHenry Hero: Morrie Bishaf
Morrie Bishaf will be one of the many former U.S. servicemen to go on the honor flight in mid-September.
Morrie Bishaf was born in Chicago, Illinois and currently lives in Gurnee Illinois.
He was drafted in 1944 and served in the Army as a rifleman in the 104th infantry division. Bishaf was in the European theatre and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart and discharged in July 1946.
After the war he attended I .I .T .on the G.I . Bill and graduated with his degree in Engineering with the class of 1950. He was a manufacturing executive (with his own company) "Amerpro" and produced bicycle helmets. He retired in 1996 and currently is a volunteer at the Allendale Academy in the wood shop, as well as being very active in a men's group "G E L" (gentlemen enjoying leisure).

Some of his hobbies are woodworking, golf, and playing around with computers. He also enjoys his wife’s excellent cooking and baking.
