ITT Opening Arlington Heights Campus
Private college expects to move its Mt. Prospect campus to town by August.

ITT Technical Institute will be opening a campus in Arlington Heights in August.
The private college will occupy 23,707 square feet of a four-story office building located at 3800 N. Wilke Road.
The area is zoned for research development and light manufacturing so ITT and the building’s owner, Mark Jordan, of First American Properties, had to ask for a variance from the village to allow the college to occupy the space.

Jordan has been having problems filling the space and had an 80 percent vacancy. Village staff said granting the variance would help with vacancy rates and would be a good location since it is surrounded by other businesses such as restaurants and hotels.
Arlington Heights trustees granted that variance last week.

ITT plans to offer daytime and evening classes in 15 classrooms with a maximum enrollment of about 500 students. The college offers technology-oriented programs including Information Technology, drafting and design, electronics technology, business, criminal justice and health sciences.
While the village had a concern about parking, it waived a parking study but will review the issue if any problems arise.
“Schools are always great,” Village President Arlene Mulder said. “This is an interesting part of the village with a new car dealership coming in and a few restaurants opening there. It’s (ITT) a great addition.”
