Man Charges in One-Car Crash in Palatine

Omar Castaneda-Maldonado, 26, of the 7400 block of Jensen Blvd. Hanover Park, was arrested on charges of improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash on April 2.

Maldonado was driving a 2009 Toyota Yaris at 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of S. Roselle Road. He was southbound when he lost control of his vehicle, entered the northbound lane of Roselle Road, then exited the roadway and struck a tree.

He was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and is listed in fair condition, police said.
