Man Rescued From Burning Car At Car Wash In Mount Prospect
Bystanders pulled the man from the burning car Thursday morning before firefighters arrived on the scene.
MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — Though he suffered some serious injuries, a man was pulled from a burning car outside a car wash Thursday morning by some Good Samaritans prior to the arrival of firefighters.
Mount Prospect Fire Chief John Dolan told Patch that his department was called to the scene at around 10:45 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the Auto Service Mall near America's Best Car Wash, 2000 Elmhurst Road, the man was out of his car, but it was on fire. Due the proximity of the car to the building, a full fire response had been instituted.
Dolan said crews had the fire out within a couple of minutes with no extension or damage to the building. The man was taken to a local hospital.
