Metra UP-NW Train Hits SUV In Arlington Heights Causing Delays
Arlington Heights police said Monday afternoon Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway was back open after the late morning crash.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL —The area of Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway is back open after a train hit an SUV in Arlington Heights, while inbound and outbound trains on Metra's Up-Northwest line may be operating on a delayed schedule as of Monday afternoon, officials said. According to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department, officers and Arlington Heights fire crews were called to the area at 11:36 a.m. for a train vs. car crash. The person inside the car was extricated and taken to Northwest Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The roadway was reopened around 2:15 p.m., while Metra UP-NW continues updating changes to inbound and outbound schedules on Twitter.
Metra Alert UP-NW - Train #646, will not operate due to #642 striking a vehicle. Train #648 will be the next train departing Crystal Lake and train #654 will be the next train departing Harvard.
