Motorcyclist Injured in Crash Has Died: Police

The collision happened Monday afternoon at Dundee and Wilke roads.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A motorcyclist who sustained life-threatening injuries following a crash Monday afternoon in Arlington Heights has died, authorities said Monday night. The name of the 36-year-old Arlington Heights man who died at Northwest Community Hospital has not yet been released.

Autopsy will be performed on the man, authorities said.

The crash happened on Dundee and Wilke roads at about 3:20 p.m. when a 005 Honda Goldwing headed west on Dundee Road “wobbled” and then left the roadway, a witness told police. The motorcycle tipped over and came to a rest on the north side of the roadway in the grassy shoulder, according to a news release from the Arlington Heights Police Department.

Authorities believe the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
