New Coronavirus Cases Continue 2-month Drop In Arlington Heights
There have been 5,620 confirmed coronavirus-related cases in Arlington Heights, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, Arlington Heights has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 123 people have died due to COVID-19 in Arlington Heights since April 8, 2020. That marks three new deaths since our last report on Feb. 18. For further comparison, there was one new death between Feb. 11-18. The most deaths in a single day since the start of the outbreak was six on May 23.
As of Friday, there have been 5,620 confirmed coronavirus-related cases in Arlington Heights, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 66 new cases since Feb. 11. For further comparison, there was an increase of 95 cases between Feb. 11-18 and 102 cases between Feb. 4-11. These numbers indicate a -18.2 percent change in confirmed cases over the last 14 days.

In addition, 165,777 people have been tested across zip codes 60004, 60005, 60006, 6008 and 60056 (Arlington Heights, Rolling Meadows and Mount Prospect) according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 4,235 tests since Feb. 18. For further comparison, there was an increase of 4,102 tests between Feb. 11-18.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 120 deaths is: 80+ (82), 70-79 (27) 60-69 (9), 50-59 (4) and 40-49 (1).
Where To Get The Coronavirus Vaccine In Illinois
As of Thursday, the Cook County Department of Health is reporting 212,175 confirmed cases and 3,992 deaths since the pandemic began. That marks an increase of 1,926 cases and 59 deaths since Patch's last update on Feb. 18. For further comparison, there was an increase of 2,930 cases and 64 deaths between Feb. 11-18. These numbers include all confirmed and probable cases under the jurisdiction of the Cook County Department of Public Health (excludes Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, Skokie, and Stickney Township).
The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 24,044 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 3,304 deaths. That marks an increase of 286 cases and 24 deaths since our last report on Feb. 18. For further comparison, there was an increase of 454 cases and 27 deaths between Feb. 11-18. In the past, the IDPH has temporarily removed some cases and deaths on three different occasions since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

- Waverly Inn Memory Care Community — 18 cases, 8 deaths
These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
