Barbara Jean Burgess, age 82, of Downers Grove, and formerly of Lemont, passed away peacefully, Friday, February 16, 2018 at her home.
Born July 31, 1935 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Arthur and Amy (nee Skoglund) Greif.
Barbara was a loving mother and a beloved grandmother. She will be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies and her cooking skills.
Surviving are her son, Bruce (the late Kim) Burgess of Plainfield; her best friend, Kent Burgess of Downers Grove; and three grandsons, Brendan Burgess, Caden Burgess, and Nathan Castans.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Castans; her parents; and one sister, Marcia Purcell, formerly of Arlington Heights.
