Outdoor Pools Near Opening Dates In Arlington Heights
The Arlington Heights Park District is monitoring the state's plan to move into Phase 5 as early as June 11.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — It's nearing outdoor pool season and things could look quite differently than they did one year ago. While a number of area pools either delayed opening in 2020 or were forced to close at times due to coronavirus outbreaks, this summer's season appears to be much more promising.
Pioneer Pool and the Recreation Park pool will open first on May 29 followed by the other three Arlington Heights pools in June. The district said all schedules, opening dates, and closing dates are subject to change based on the current guidance issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

"We are aware of the Governor's announcement today that Bridge will start May 14 and that Phase 5 could start as early as June 11," the Park District said on its website. "We are working on plans for both and will have more to share in the days to come on how things like pools, camps, programs, and facilities will evolve. Until May 14, we remain under Phase 4 guidance."
