Park district officials are asking residents to use caution and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Do not use playgrounds if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
- Face coverings should be worn anytime social distancing cannot be maintained.
- Capacity is 50 patrons. If a playground is at capacity, please come back at a later time.
- Playgrounds are not cleaned regularly.
- Follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and wash or sanitize hands frequently.
The park district opened Pioneer Park Pool on Friday, and Recreation Park Pool is expected to open by next Monday. Under Phase 3 guidelines of the Restore Illinois plan, the park district is very limited as to what it can offer in the aquatics area. The district is starting with lap swimming, diving lessons, and competitive swim clinics. Lap swimming is by reservation only, allows for 10 swimmers at a time, and is limited to ages 9 and up. Lap swimmers will be restricted to their own lane. Lap swimmers will not be able to move to another area of the pool such as the diving well.
