Schaumburg Motorcylist Killed In I-90 Crash
The 27-year-old man struck another vehicle, which fled the crash scene, Thursday night northbound I-90 at Addison Street in Chicago.
SCHAUMBURG, IL — A 27-year-old Schaumburg died as a result of injuries sustained in a crash Thursday night in the northbound I-90 lane at Addison Street. Kevin S. Nitsch was pronounced dead at 12:16 a.m. Friday after being transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police said Nitsch was traveling on his 2005 black Yamaha motorcycle at around 11:30 p.m. when he lost control for unknown reasons and struck another vehicle. He was ejected and came to rest in the left two lanes of the highway. The driver of the second vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the scene, according to a news release.
Nitsch's motorcycle came to rest in the right ditch. He was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and later succumbed to them.

At around 11:29 p.m. Thursday, the left three lanes were shut down for the investigation. At around 12:30 a.m. Friday, all northbound lanes on Interstate 90 and the ramp from Addison Street to Interstate 90 northbound were shut down for the investigation; with traffic diverted off the Interstate to Addison Street.
All lanes including the ramp were reopened at approximately 2:30 a.m.
