ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Whether or not the Chicago Bears eventually leave the city and head to the suburbs, speculation on the team's future has reached a feverish pitch. Last week, the NFL franchise submitted a bid to buy Arlington International Racecourse.

While the Bears currently have a lease to play at Soldier Field through 2033, President and CEO Ted Phillips said about a potential move to Arlington Heights, "It's our obligation to explore every possible option to ensure we're doing what's best for our organization and its future. If selected, this step allows us to further evaluate the property and its potential."
