SWANCC Helps Member Communities Go Green in 2013

There are a number of ways you can start a living 'Greener' life, and SWANCC is a resource for member communities in northern Cook County.

Do you want to learn how to compost your yard waste, educate yourself on recycling and waste, or are you searching for reuse options for items you own to live a greener life?

If so, the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County is your resource for all things relating to Going Green in 2013. 

Have you ever thought about composting your yard waste instead of leaving it at the curb? An instructional video provided by SWANCC can walk you through how to compost at home. 

There is a Reuse and Recycling Directory that can make you aware of opportunities to handle a number of household items, including books, clothing, sporting goods, toys and much more. 

Want to lessen your impact on the environment? Websites like www.freecycle.org, www.craigslist.org and www.ebay.com all offer ways for you to reduce the amount of materials you contribute to the waste stream in northern Cook County.
