Thank you Arlington Heights Patch Readers, See You Around!
Arlington Heigths Patch Editor Melanie Santostefano's last day is Thursday, September 5.
You must know, it’s not easy for me to leave Arlington Heights Patch. Thursday, September 5 is my last day as editor.
When I arrived on the scene last October, almost every person I met in town said, “Now, what is Arlington Heights Patch?”
I had my work cut out for me.

I attended events, through the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce and throughout the village, reached out to your local village leaders, the township, park district, AHML, non-profits, residents and others-who make this town tick.
I also spent a lot of time at the local Panera off of Evergreen as well as the Starbucks working, meeting many of you.

I began to see and understand that certain, and special pride that residents have living here. I get it.
Arlington Heights Patch has grown tremendously over [nearly] the last year. Readership is up, and engagement is strong on the site through community postings in our events, boards and blog sections. All of that makes for a site you as residents feel is relevant to your lives.
I’ve been told by so many that you like what we have done here, and that makes me so very proud.
But, there comes a time in all of our lives when a change is needed, and that time for me is now. The timing for me is right to go back into another industry I love, marketing and public relations.
I will miss covering Arlington Heights. I’ve come to appreciate, understand and enjoy this town. I wish you all the best, and thank you so much for helping the site grow.
If you need to reach out for any reason, email brian.slupski@patch.com. He will be handling the transition as new leadership comes in.
Sincerely,
Melanie Santostefano
