Tires, Rims Stolen From New Cars In Dealer's Lot: Cops

PLUS: Phony $100 bill used at Arlington Heights pharmacy.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — The following information is from the Arlington Heights Police Department unless otherwise noted. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Stolen Tools

Landscaping equipment — including a Stihl chainsaw and Stihl pole pruner — were stolen from a trailer parked in the 1200 block of Sunset Terrace just before 10:14 a.m. Nov. 19. The tools, which are worth $2,100, were stolen by at least one person in a white, midsize Cadillac SUV.

Counterfeit Money

A counterfeit $100 bill was used during a purchase at Walgreens, 1000 E. Northwest Hwy., around 5 p.m. Nov. 16.

Theft

Numerous tires and rims were stolen between 10 p.m. June 15 and 5:45 a.m. June 16 from new cars parked in the inventory lot at Lexus of Arlington, 1510 W. Dundee Road. Several cars were damaged during the theft, and the combined costs is estimated to be around $44,000.
