What is the primary reason you are running for this office? I enjoy being engaged in our community and want to give back by bringing my knowledge and experience to make the township even better.
What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?
Really not just one because these priorities all work together:
Reducing property taxes.
Maximizing available services by cutting unnecessary spending and putting those savings into making services better.
Improving the transparency and openness of township government.
What are the top three issues facing Wheeling Township residents? Right now: jobs, the economy and being able to keep their homes.
What sets you apart from the other candidates? My willingness to: trim unnecessary costs, cut elected officials’ salaries to a level more in line with the actual work performed and, develop a rational plan to eliminate the Highway Commission and transfer road oversight to the Board.
Anything else you would like to add? I have a legal background especially in the area of social service funding and delivery. My experience with charities such as Journeys and Faith Community Homes plus my work as Chair of the Village of Arlington Heights Housing Commission has prepared me very well for the unique mix of responsibilities, oversight and insight required of a modern Township trustee. I will bring an open mind but will also challenge staff and others as needed in order to eliminate unneeded spending so that Township services can be maximized and do the most good for the most people.
