1 Person In Custody After 'Brief Standoff' On Walcott Road: Cops
Authorities said they were investigating a possible armed robbery near the 2100 block of Walcott Road. A Special Response Team was on scene.

AURORA, IL — Aurora police said one person is in custody after a brief standoff at the Covey at Fox Valley Apartments on Tuesday afternoon.
Detectives were investigating a report of an armed robbery on the 2100 block of Ogden Avenue when they asked residents to avoid the area at around 12:30 p.m.
A spokesperson for the Aurora Police Department said the potential armed robbery occurred just after 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Shortly after, detectives were able to determine the suspect was possibly staying at an apartment complex on the 2100 block of Walcott Road.

After a short standoff, APD spokesman Paris Lewbel said the man was taken into custody without incident. Lewbel said it is under investigation if the suspect had a weapon on him, but that the prior incident was classified as an armed robbery.
Police said there was no threat to the public throughout the investigation. The suspect's name has not been released and no charges have been filed yet.

A Special Response Team was called to the scene. The area is now cleared for residents.
