10K Fully Vaccinated Against Coronavirus In Kane County

More than 20,000 other Kane County residents have received the first of two doses of the coronavirus vaccine, public health data shows.

KANE COUNTY, IL — Kane County reached a positive milestone Monday in its push to more than a half-million residents against the coronavirus, with more than 10,000 people now fully inoculated after receiving two doses, public health data shows.

That means about 1.88 percent of Kane County residents are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

About 20,600 Kane County residents have received the first of two doses of the coronavirus vaccine, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Kane County Tops 49K Coronavirus Cases, Nears 700 Deaths

Vaccine administration in the county has sped up significantly over the past week. More than 12,100 vaccine doses were administered from Feb. 2-8, up more than 87 percent from the 6,470 doses the previous week.

The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered stood at 1733 on Monday, an all-time high for Kane County, the state’s data shows.

More than 1.4 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine were administered statewide by Monday. About 216,500 doses were given to residents and staff at Illinois long-term-care facilities through a federal program run by CVS and Walgreens.

More than 311,000 Illinois residents were fully vaccinated against the coronavirus by Monday, about 2.45 percent of the state's total population of 12.7 million, the state's data shows.

78% Of Kane County Educators To Take Coronavirus Vaccine

Illinois is now in Phase 1b of its vaccine rollout, under which 3.2 million residents in the state qualify for vaccines.

Kane County Board member Jarret Sanchez said last week that about 100,000 people in Kane County are eligible to receive a vaccine during Phase 1B, which includes residents over 65, educators, first responders, day care staff, factory workers and farmers, grocery store workers, public transit employees, and people in prison.
