2018 Kane County Primary Candidates Names Released
The general primary will take place March 20.

AURORA, IL — The Kane County Clerk’s Office released a list of candidates Tuesday morning for the 2018 general primary election. A lottery will take place Thursday to determine the ballot order at the Clerk's Office, Building B training room at 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva at 9 a.m.
Democrats and Republicans have contested races for Sheriff and Republicans have two hats in the ring for County Clerk. There are 35 Democratic precinct committee races and six for Republicans. Referendums will be on the March ballot, as well.

Statewide, petitions have been filed with the State Board of Elections for candidates of U.S. Congress, as well as the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate. WCIA reported that State Senator Michael Hastings (D-Tinley Park) showed up mere minutes before Monday night's filing deadline and submitted petitions to run for Secretary of State against long-time incumbent Jesse White.
