700 Coronavirus-Related Deaths In Kane Co. Since Pandemic’s Start

KANE COUNTY, IL — Kane County recorded its 700th coronavirus-related death Monday, public health data shows.

That means the county has averaged more than two coronavirus-related deaths per day since recording its first death almost 11 months ago on March 23.

Fewer Coronavirus Vaccines Coming To Kane Co. As Priorities Shift

Kane County’s seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 deaths hit a four-month low Wednesday, after just four were recorded in the past week, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Twenty-two Kane County residents have died from COVID-19 in the first 17 days of February, the state’s data shows. The county recorded 66 deaths over the same period in January.

Kane County’s seven-day rolling average of coronavirus cases — just under 80 on Wednesday — is at its lowest point in more than four months. That measure was last under 80 on Oct. 8, before a huge surge in coronavirus cases and related deaths in Kane County.

Kane County Positivity Rate Drops To 4-Month Low

The county’s positivity rate has dipped to 4.5 percent, its lowest since Oct. 8. That measure peaked at 18 percent in mid-November.
