Aurora Cooling Centers Offer Relief During Heat Wave
Heat indices are expected to reach as high as 114 degrees.
AURORA, IL — With excessive heat warnings in effect until late Saturday, Aurora is reminding residents that its cooling centers can provide some relief from dangerous temperatures. The city has four permanent cooling centers and a temporary cooling center that will be open while the excessive heat warning is in effect.

West Aurora High School Fieldhouse

The West Aurora High School Fieldhouse will serve as a temporary cooling center on July 19 and July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m

Santori Public Library of Aurora
101 S. River St.
This cooling center is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aurora Public Library — West Branch
233 S. Constitution Dr.
Open Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Aurora Public Library — Eola Branch
555 S. Eola Rd.
The Eola Branch serves as a cooling center Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Salvation Army
437 E. Galena Blvd.
The Salvation Army on Galena serves as a cooling center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
