Aurora Firefighters, Cops Gift Kids Hundreds Of Stuffed Animals
The pre-Christmas surprise brought a smile to more than 400 kids' faces.

AURORA, IL — Police and firefighters in Aurora took a little time off to bring some joy to local children just before the holidays. The Heroes with Hearts and Hugs program, sponsored by PetSmart and helmed by Aurora Police Department Officer Sandra Navarette, visited Aurora classrooms to pass out hundreds of stuffed animals.
In total, the police and firefighters taking part handed out 400 stuffed kitties and puppies for the kids to take home and play with. The officers, who were joined by Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin, were themselves gifted with hugs and smiles from the children.

Thanks, Aurora police and fire for all you do!
