Aurora Firefighters Rescue Ducklings From Storm Drain
The tiny ducklings were safely reunited with their mama duck.

AURORA, IL — Aurora firefighters performed a daring rescue mission that reunited adventurous baby ducklings with their mother after they wandered into a storm drain Wednesday. The hapless ducklings wound up in a storm drain not far from Butterfield Road and were likely scared and confused until firefighters Carl Winnicki and Michael Hess came to their rescue.
Hess and Winnicki used their tactical training to safely remove each duckling from the storm drain. The City of Aurora shared a post on Facebook calling the firefighters "helpful heroes" who "fight fires AND free our feathered friends."
Thanks, Winnicki and Hess, for saving the day for those tiny lil' ducklings!
