Aurora GreenFest Canceled Due To Coronavirus Pandemic
The event to promote sustainability and environmental protection was scheduled to take place Sept. 19 at the Prisco Community Center.
AURORA, IL — The 11th annual Aurora GreenFest will have to wait until next year after organizers called off the event amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a report by the Aurora Beacon-News. The event to promote sustainability and environmental protection was scheduled to take place Sept. 19 at the Prisco Community Center.
Mavis Bates, founder and chair of GreenFest, made the decision to cancel the event several weeks ago after speaking with Brook McDonald, president and CEO of the Conservation Foundation, and Fox Valley Park District Executive Director Jim Pilmer about the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the report states.
