“Thankfully, no one was struck by a ricocheting bullet and injured or killed,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release.
Taha is also accused of hitting the woman several times and choking her for about 15 seconds before firing a gun at the car, according to police.
Police allege Taha then ran from the area and hid for about 20 minutes before officers found and arrested him.
A DuPage County judge on Monday set Taha’s bond at $500,000. He is due to next appear in court May 13.
