Aurora Man Sentenced To 25 Years For Sex Assault On Child
Marcos Chibamba Chibamba, 34, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13. Prosecutors said he knew the victim.

AURORA, IL—An Aurora man who pleaded guilty this month to sexually assaulting a child has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
On May 13, Marcos Chibamba Chibamba, 34, 1300 block of Monomoy Street, was convicted of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a class X felony, for crimes he committed against a child under the age of 13.
The crimes occurred in 2015 and involved a child Chibamba knew, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said they were proud of the young victim for the bravery she showed in helping bring Chibamba to justice.
“She was engaged with us, committed to justice and to ensuring that her abuser would not victimize anyone else,” Kane County Assistant State’s Attorney Matthew Rodgers said.

Illinois law says Chibamba must serve at least 85 percent of his 25 year sentence. He was given credit for 518 days served in the Kane County jail.
In addition to the prison term, Chibamba must register as a sexual offender for life.
