AURORA, IL — An Aurora man is headed to prison for the 2016 stabbing of a 25-year-old man at a bar. Michael W. Moser-Booth, 37, will serve 12 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for stabbing a man he knew in the neck. Kane County Associate Judge Linda S. Abrahamson sentenced him Thursday. He was convicted of armed violence, a class X felony, in September.
Just before midnight April 12, 2016, Moser-Booth entered O'Malley's Bar, in the 700 block of Hill Avenue in Aurora, and confronted a man who was with a group of people, including a woman both of them knew, according to police reports at the time.
Moser-Booth stabbed the victim in the left side of his neck, according to a press release from the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. The victim's injuries are permanent.
