The Aurora mayoral election day is rapidly approaching. After all of
the debates and ads and mudslinging by certain candidates, April 6th is
the date of the election and is also the chance to let your voice be
heard through your vote.
Just a few of the observations that I have made are presented here:
Alderman Lofchie would probably be a competent mayor but none of his
ideas get me excited enough to go out and vote for him.
Mayor Irvin seems to have a never ending supply of money to spend on
his campaign ads. The mayor also loves to talk about what a great
leader he is, he can't say it enough. Being mayor during significant
negative events does not make you a great leader. We can all refer to
Rudy Giuliani as an example of that.
Candidate John Laesch and his team have done an absolutely amazing
job of getting his message spread to the community on a shoestring
budget. His advertising budget was next to nothing. Many of you might
not even be familiar with his name or that he is a candidate. His
campaign has relied almost exclusively on a dedicated and passionate
team of volunteers that believe in him and his vision of what Aurora can
become under the right leadership. I urge you to learn all you can
about Mr. Laesch before you cast your vote.
I have chosen to vote against corruption and glad handing and to
vote for an honest candidate that puts the city of Aurora and the
prosperity of the citizens first. John Laesch is definitely getting my
vote
