Aurora Police Deliver Hundreds Of Gifts For Holidays

The officers and Santa Claus delivered toys door to door to more than 60 families.

AURORA, IL --- Hundreds of local kids were able to have a merry holiday season thanks to the generosity of the Aurora Police Department. Police partnered with local schools and stores for the "Operation Happy Holidays Project," which brought new toys to 160 kids throughout Aurora.

Several members of the police force assisted Santa Claus himself in delivering the toys door to door to more than 60 families. Photos shared on the Aurora Police Department's website show kids beaming as they embraced their new stuffed animals and played with new toys. Some police officers even donned reindeer antlers!

In a post online, police thanked the following organizations for their help and donations with the 2018 Operation Happy Holidays initiative: Toys for Tots, Walgreens, Meijer, PetSmart, Sacred Heart, Restore the Neighborhood, Pigeon Hill, Dollar General, the Law Enforcement Youth Academy Alumni, Telecom Operators, and Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association.
