AURORA, IL — Downtown Aurora will be filled with festive lights and holiday cheer for the city's annual Winter Lights Parade and tree lighting on Nov. 22. The festivities also include a winter market, fireworks and a visit from Santa Claus.

Winter Lights Parade

The winter lights parade steps off from Downer Place at 6:30 p.m. The parade then makes its way down Water Street before coming to a close on River Street.

Mayor Richard Irvin will lead the parade, along with the new Little Mr. and Little Miss Aurora.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

The annual Aurora tree lighting ceremony will take place immediately following the parade. To watch the ceremony and countdown, head to the GAR Memorial Museum at 23 E. Downer Place.

Fireworks Display

After the tree is lit, head to the East Downer Place bridge by City Hall to snag the best viewing spot to see the brilliant holiday fireworks display light up the sky.

Free Holiday Photos with Santa Claus

Families can take their kids to Tredwell Coffee at 14 W. Downer Place to get free photos with Santa Claus.

Winter Lights Market

Throughout the event, you can get a headstart on holiday shopping at the Winter Lights Winter Market. The market will fill downtown Aurora with artisans selling hand-crafted items. A food truck court will also be available with eats from Small Cakes, Burritoville, Red Hot Chicago, and more.
