Aurora Weed Dealer Sentenced To Prison: Cops
Suggs will spend 5 years in prison for the offense.

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man was sentenced to five years in prison for having a large amount of pot he planned to deliver. Associate Judge David R. Kliment handed down the sentence Thursday to Jamari M. Suggs, 27, of the 1000 block of Century Lane in Aurora. He'll be serving his sentence at the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Suggs pleaded guilty in October to unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, a class 3 felony. According to Aurora Police, Kane County Assistant State's Attorney Lori Anderson said in court that in October of 2016, Suggs' 2017 Ford Fusion was stopped in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue and Spicebush Lane for an expired registration. An officer who spoke with Suggs noticed two plastic bags that contained 117 grams of marijuana on the car floor. Suggs admitted it was his and that he sells marijuana, police said.
Police said Suggs has two prior convictions for cocaine delivery and one prior conviction for cocaine possession.
