Blackberry Farms Reopens For 2018 Season In Aurora
The weather was perfect for paddle boats, hayrides, and carousels at the first day of the season for Blackberry Farms in Aurora.

AURORA, IL — The weather couldn't have been more ideal to herald the kickoff of Blackberry Farms's 2018 season in Aurora. The interactive museum reopened Tuesday to give residents a chance to ride a steam train around Lake Gregory, take a spin on an old-fashioned carousel, or watch the park's famous re-enactments of pioneer life.
Throughout Blackberry Farms, you'll find different stations that trace the history of American pioneer life from the 1840s through the 1890s. Blacksmiths forge metal tools, artisans craft soap and candles, and period homemakers churn fresh butter.
Each station is designed to look like the time period it depicts. Blackberry Farms also features streets that recreate life in Aurora when electricity first lit the streets and gave Aurora the nickname of "City of Light."
