Body Of Homeless Man Found In Fox River: Aurora Police
The body of the 63-year-old was found on Tuesday
The Aurora Police Department is investigating the death of a 63-year-old homeless man whose body was found in the Fox River on Tuesday, according a post on the department's Facebook page.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a witness flagged down an officer near the intersection of River Street and Sard Avenue. The witness said he thought he saw a body in the river.
The body of David P. Rainford, a homeless man, was found floating about 25 feet off the shoreline on the west side of the river, near the 700 block of South River Street.

The Aurora Fire Department Dive Team and the Kane County Coroner recovered the body. Police said there were no signs of foul play, but an autopsy will be conducted.
According to Kane County Court records, Rainford pleaded guilty to domestic battery in 2005 and 2009. In 2016 he pleaded guilty to being intoxicated on park property and he was fined $100.
