Charges Filed for Aurora Shooting
A Chicago man faces felony charges following a shooting during an attempted robbery

Deonta X. Nabors, 23, of the 3700 block of California Avenue, Chicago, has been charged for an attempted robbery, according to an Aurora Police Department press release.
Nabors has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and attempted robbery along with three counts each of attempted armed robbery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. He has also been charged with lying to police about his identity during the traffic stop that led to his arrest.
Early on Tuesday morning, police responded to a taxi driver who had been shot during an attempted robbery.

Nabors was arrested around 7:39 p.m., January 10. He was in a vehicle pulled over by Aurora Police at Marion Avenue and Fifth Street because its registration was expired. An officer noted that Nabors matched the description of the man who was wanted in the robbery and shooting.
Nabors’ bail was set at $2 million, and police expect to transfer him to the Kane County Correctional Center on Friday.
