Construction Closes Ramps On I-88 At Orchard Road In Aurora
Officials say the ramp closures are expected to last into October.

AURORA, IL — Crews have begun work to rebuild a ramp on I-88 at the Orchard Road interchange, causing closures that are anticipated to last into October, the Illinois Tollway said in a media release. The construction, which began Tuesday, closed the right side of the ramps that link Orchard Road to both eastbound and westbound I-88.
Electronic signs will be posted on the tollway throughout the construction to alert motorists to upcoming closures and detours. Tollway officials said the closures will help expedite the ramp reconstruction, estimating that the work will take half as long with detours and closures in effect.
In a newsletter, North Aurora officials said traffic will be most impacted near the westbound exit ramp during the evening rush hour. Motorists are advised to use IL-31 as an alternate route.
