Fiery Fatal Crash In Aurora Leaves 1 Dead: Cops
Police say the victim's body was badly burned and additional forensics are needed to identify him.

AURORA, IL — A man is dead after his car hit a tree and burst into flames in Aurora Thursday evening. Authorities are working to identify the man, who was the sole occupant of the car, but police say more forensics are needed as his body was badly burned.
Police initially said the man's car flipped, but they have since issued a correction.
According to police the man was heading westbound on Diehl near Molitor "apparently at a high rate of speed" when he lost control of the 2007 Infinity G35 he was driving, hit a fiber optics box, and crashed into a tree on a parkway near Ferry Rd round 6:30 p.m.

Aurora firefighters arrived at the scene and put out the fire before extricating the victim from the car. Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to police, the Kane County Coroner is currently performing additional forensics and the Aurora Police Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
