East Aurora School District 131 School Board Announces Anticipated Vacancy

The Board of Education for East Aurora School District 131 has announced an anticipated vacancy on the School Board. The vacancy will occur on April 6, 2021.

State law allows the Board 60 days to appoint a new member. The newly-appointed Board member would serve until the next Board of Education Election, scheduled for April 2023.

Persons interested in applying for appointment to the Board should write a letter of interest and send it to the East Aurora School District Administration Office, 417 Fifth Street, Aurora, IL 60505 Attention: Ms. Lisa Morales, Executive Assistant, by 4:00 p.m. on April 13, 2021. The Board will conduct interviews with selected candidates on April 19, 2021, with the new Board member being sworn in at the Board of Education meeting on May 3, 2021.

To qualify to be a Board Member an individual must be a registered voter, 18 years of age or older, a resident of the State, a citizen of the United States, and live within the boundaries of District 131 for at least one year preceding the appointment.
