Edward, Elmhurst Hospitals Get National Distinction

NAPERVILLE, IL — Edward Hospital and Elmhurst Hospital have been named Top General Hospitals by The Leapfrog Group. They're the only two Illinois hospitals to make it to that list, and this is Elmhurst's second year in a row receiving the honor.

The Leapfrog Group is an independent hospital watchdog organization. It measures infection rates, maternity care and the hospital's capacity to prevent medication errors, among others, for the Top General Hospitals list. Among almost 2,000 applications, Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals were recognized nationally alongside 43 other Top General Hospitals, 10 Top Children’s Hospitals, 18 Top Rural Hospitals and 36 Top Teaching Hospitals.

Edward and Elmhurst Hospitals are part of Edward-Elmhurst Health, a system with more than 60 outpatient locations across suburban Chicago, according to a press release from Edward-Elmhurst health.
