Fake Cash Spotted In Naperville, Aurora: Cops
The counterfeit money has been passed off in a private transaction in Naperville and an Aurora restaurant.

AURORA, IL — Several incidences of counterfeit cash have been reported across the suburbs, including Plainfield, New Lenox and now Naperville and Aurora. The bills pictured above have been printed with “Motion Picture Use Only.” According to a release from Aurora Police, these bills have popped up several times in recent months at business who don’t catch the inconsistencies and also be people doing private business deals. Some of them read “In Gold We Trust.”
Police say a 14-year-old Naperville boy lost about $1,200 worth of shoes he was selling. The buyer paid for the merchandise with fake bills instead of selling through an app. Police say if you’re ever meeting up for an online business deal, you can always meet at the police department for the transaction.

Police want to hear from you if you have any information on who may be producing the counterfeit money. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 630-892-1000, and callers can remain anonymous.
