Fast Food Manager Robbed Dollar Store At Gunpoint: Aurora Police

The suspect got a away after leading police on a chase after one of his shifts. He's suspected in several other area robberies.

AURORA, IL — Reginald Parker, 43, accused of robbing a Family Dollar store and an 7-Eleven store, was arrested Dec. 13 in Yorkville after eluding pursuing officers in Aurora, according to Aurora police. He's also a suspect in several additional robberies that have occurred in the area, police said. Parker, of the 600 block of Tinley Drive, is currently in the Kane County Jail and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

Parker is charged with aggravated robbery for the stickup at the Family Dollar in the 900 block of N. Farnsworth Avenue. Police said around 8:20 p.m. Nov. 21, he approached a 29-year-old employee and demanded money while masked and armed with what appeared to be a handgun. Police say Parker ran from the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

In a second incident Nov. 25, police said Parker, masked and armed with what appeared to be a handgun, walked into a 7-Eleven, 1700 block of N. Farnsworth Avenue, and demanded money from a 57-year-old clerk, who refused to hand it over.

There were no injuries in either case.

With the second incident, police were able to identify the license plate on his 2013 Chevrolet SUV from surveillance videos. Dec. 4, officers and detectives set up a surveillance on the suspect at a St. Charles fast food restaurant at the 21oo block of W. Main Street where he worked as a manager. When he left the business around 9:45 that night, police said officers followed him toward Aurora and tried to pull him over as he was getting onto I-88.

Parker accelerated, police said, leading officers on a chase that was terminated almost immediately when he turned west onto Sullivan Road from Lake Street, according to the release. The suspect was arrested Dec. 13 in Yorkville in an unrelated incident. Officials said they found two replica handguns, a mask and other items from his vehicle.
