Firefighters searched the home for victims, but later learned the home was vacant and waiting to be sold, the release states. Crews spent about two and a half hours fighting the flames Tuesday morning, with the building’s construction and icy conditions making it difficult to extinguish the fire, officials said.

Several firefighters slipped and fell on the ice but no one was injured, officials said. The home was declared uninhabitable, and officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
